Find Lowline studs near you.
This page contains details of all registered Lowline studs in Australia and New Zealand,
plus ALCA members worldwide and registered US and Canadian Lowline breeders.
At this stage the map shows only those Australian and New Zealand Lowline studs that have websites but eventually we will put every ALCA stud on it.
In the meantime, there is a list of all studs registered with ALCA (broken down by state and district) further down the page
together with links to US and Canadian Lowline studs registered with a Lowline cattle association.

HOW TO USE THE MAP
Use the controls at the top left to manipulate the map.
The + sign will increase the size. The - sign will decrease it. Clicking the arrows moves the map in the opposite direction to which they are pointing.
The controls top right give you a choice between map or satellite view.

A TIP. Where markers are clustered together, increase the size of the map to separate them so that you can read the details of multiple studs in that area.

For a list of all studs (broken down by district) scroll down the page.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION If you're thinking about buying a pedigree Australian Lowline, there are things that you need to know...

1. The Australian Lowline Cattle Association (ALCA) has a closed Herd Book. The integrity of the Lowline gene pool is considered of paramount importance and the Lowline association will not compromise its registration standards.

2.If you purchase unregistered stock there is no guarantee that they will be able to be registered later.

3. You may not upgrade or breed up animals to purebred Lowline status. Both parents must be registered for an Australian Lowline to be given registration. DNA-based proof of parentage is also required.

4. When purchasing a Lowline, always check the animal's tattoo. The stud tattoo code (three letters) is in the right ear and the year letter and individual animal number in the left. All registered animals are required to have these tattoos.

5. Check the tattoo against the animal number on the registration certificate.

6. If no registration certificate is available, check the tattoo by going to
Animal Enquiry .

7.If purchasing embryos, check their registration certificates. Otherwise, check again at
Animal Enquiry by searching on the name of the sire and/ or the dam. As well as their breeding, ownership and transfer history, you will find a full list of their progeny, including embryos. Check the number of the embryo against the number the seller has supplied.

8.To have registered animals transferred into your name, you must buy from a financial member of ALCA. The list on this page was up to date at December 1, 2008. For further details, or should anyone else claim to be a member, run a check at
Member Enquiry

9. The vendor is responsible for doing the transfer paperwork and paying the fees to transfer the cattle into your name.

10. For a transfer to be made into your name, you must join ALCA and be a financial member.

11. To become a member of ALCA contact the Executive Officer,
David McDonald, at ABRI, c/o the University of New England, Armidale, NSW 2351, Australia. Phone (02) 6773 2393.
If you are calling from outside Australia, then please omit the "zero" and replace it with the country code for Australia which is 61.
