This sign at the Thailand National Agricultural Festival tells farmers that the F1 Thai/Lowline cross weighed 350 kg while Thai native animals of the same age weighed 230 kg.

Australian Lowlines cross with Thai native cattle for big weight gains

Vitulus Yes Yes Yes was sold to Thailand earlier this year largely as a result of the work done by Ubon Ratchathani University in increasing native (bos ) cattle size by introducing Australian Lowline blood. By using Australian Lowline bulls over Thai native cattle, Ubon has been able to achieve an extra 100 kg per F1 animal when compared with the weight of Thai native cattle of the same age. The purchaser of Yes Yes Yes was so impressed with the Ubon University results that he also bought two stud heifers and one young Amberfield bull. At the end of last year Vitulus sent a shipment of three bulls and two females to Ubon University. Margo Hayes of Vitulus was also a presenter at the last Thailand National Agricultural Festival speaking to farmers and government officials about the advantages of the Australian Lowline breed.
